THIRD GENDER BILL RAISES CONCERNS IN CALIFORNIA

Imagine a few years from now, how your child would feel while looking at his birth certificate and he/she sees the gender options such as ‘male’, ‘female’ and ‘nonbinary’.
Let’s take another instance.

Imagine your own drivers' license or  birth certificate with options such as given above. What would be your first reaction when you see that your parents actually ticked the ‘nonbinary’ option as your gender? Confusing right? Alright.

According to recent reports from  lifesitenews, “a new California bill introduced by two openly homosexual politicians proposes creating a “third gender” option — “nonbinary” for state licenses and birth certificates”.

The bill, Senate Bill 179, is garnering the usual pro-family opposition and support from the liberal media, including a Los Angeles Times news article that failed to include one word of dissent from conservative critics.

“This bill would authorize the change of gender on the new birth certificate to be female, male, or nonbinary,” states SB 179, introduced in the California Senate by openly homosexual Democratic senators Toni Atkins, D-San Diego, and Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco.

SB 179 would delete the requirement that transgender applicants for changed-sex status on their birth certificate have undergone “any treatment,” such as body-disfiguring “sex-reassignment surgeries,” such as a man “transitioning” to become a self-described “woman,” or opposite-sex hormone therapies.

Instead, it would authorize a person to “submit to the State Registrar an application to change gender on [their] birth certificate” based on the applicant submitting an affidavit that his or her changed “gender” conforms to “the person’s legal gender,” and “not for any fraudulent purposes,” under penalty of perjury.

License applicants would no longer have the option of checking the box for male or female - the natural, basic offering since the early 1900s when drivers' licenses were first issued - could now check a box for 'nonbinary'.

Randy Thomasson, president of the pro-family group SaveCalifornia.com, assailed the bill’s requirement of creating the “nonbinary" category, which he said would become a “catch-all for an endless list of ‘genders.’”

Thomasson also warned about the harmful effects of eliminating the current California legal requirement that “transgender” sex-designation-change applicants get a physician's affidavit affirming that ‘clinically appropriate treatment for the purpose of gender transition’ has occurred.”

“Anyone would be able to ‘change’ their gender, simply by filing a form with the state,” Thomasson said. ”SB 179 says this signed form ‘shall be accepted as conclusive proof of gender change.’”

Thus, all it would take for minors to "change their gender” would be “getting one parent to agree, which would automatically drag the disagreeing parent into court to ‘show cause,’" Thomasson said.

Atkins said at a Sacramento press conference that the bill "will keep California at the forefront of LGBTQ civil rights," the LA Times reported.

As LifeSiteNews reported on another pro-LGBTQ bil on the docket in the California State Assembly, the Democrats' overwhelming dominance in the state makes it difficult to stop pro-LGBTQ bills or any liberal legislation.

But homosexual advocates use conservative attempts to defeat “transgender” activism to portray the gender-confused (and homosexuals) as victims, a standard LGBT political tactic going back decades.

"As the LGBT community — but especially the trans community — is under assault in this country, California needs to go in the opposite direction and embrace the trans community and support the trans community and modernize these laws," said Wiener.

Even Thomasson admits that due to the political power imbalance in Sacramento, SB 179 “can’t be beaten on merit,” but he said it “can be defeated on process.”
Identity fraud, and encouraging gender confusion among kids

Thomasson said that if SB 179 were to become law, “Children would be lied to about nature and health, and entertain the idea that it's OK for a doctor to cut off their healthy body parts.

“At the DMV, 15- and 16-year-olds getting learner's permits and driver's licenses will be told they are either ‘male,’ ‘female,’ or ‘nonbinary,’" he said.

Thomasson said the "third gender" bill would also make it harder for cops to identify criminals and make it easier for the latter to commit identity fraud.

“Imagine how police and courts would be befuddled by this new identity fraud. Imagine the arrest of a biological male whose driver's license says ‘nonbinary,’" he said. “Or someone whose new birth certificate says ‘nonbinary,’ but they dress as a man one day and a woman the other.”

DONALD TRUMP'S VICTORY SPARKS PROTESTS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES

While Donald Trump is looking forward to a meeting at the White House, it seems not many are taking his victory at becoming the next soon-to-be sworn-in US President after incumbent President Barrack Obama leaves office in a couple of weeks as reports from the BBC revealed that thousands of demonstrators have taken to the streets of several US cities to protest, shouting slogans such as “Not my president" against the election of ‘the man of the moment’ Donald Trump with a few others burning orange-haired effigies of the business tycoon who will become the 45th US president after securing a surprise victory over Hillary Clinton which left many still looking stunned.

Trump is due to meet Obama for talks which would be aimed at ensuring a smooth transition even as he urged all Americans to accept the result of Tuesday's election notwithstanding the fact that he had campaigned against Trump branding him "unfit" for office adding "we are now all rooting for his success in uniting and leading the country" even as defeated Hillary Clinton also concurred and told supporters to give Trump a "chance to lead".

However, despite their calls to give Trump a "chance to lead", protesters still gathered in several cities across the country.

In New York, thousands marched on Trump Tower, voicing their opposition to Mr Trump's policies on immigration, gay rights and reproductive rights. Fifteen people were arrested; the New York Times reported.

Police earlier erected concrete barriers and other security measures outside the 5th Avenue skyscraper, which is likely to be Trump's headquarters during the transition to power.

In Los Angeles, a mass anti-Trump rally shut down a key freeway near the city, according to local media.

In Chicago, crowds blocked the entrance to Trump Tower, chanting: "No Trump, No KKK, No Fascists USA" and "Not my president!"

American flags were burned at some protests and in Portland, Oregon, demonstrators temporarily closed an interstate highway. Demonstrations also took place in Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle and San Francisco, among other cities.

Meanwhile, Donal Trump in his victory speech in the early hours of Wednesday, vowed to "bind the wounds of division", after an acrimonious election contest, and to be "president for all Americans".

White House spokesman Josh Earnest has insisted Mr Obama will be sincere about ensuring a smooth handover when he meets Trump, although he added: "I'm not saying it's going to be an easy meeting."

The president-elect is expected in the White House on Thursday morning accompanied by his wife, Melania, who will have a meeting with First Lady Michelle Obama in the White House residence.

Mr Obama, who congratulated his successor in a phone call in the early hours of Wednesday, said it was "no secret" that he and Mr Trump had pretty significant differences.

But he added that "we all want what's best for this country" and he was "heartened" by what he heard in Mr Trump's remarks the night before.

Mr Trump's transition team for the 10-week period until inauguration will be led by Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey.

The president-elect, who has never held elected office, has said his immediate priorities will be restoring the country's infrastructure and doubling its economic growth.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said: "Donald Trump is taking this very seriously," adding that the business mogul's deal-making ability would enable him to quickly "make things happen for the American people".

AND SO TRUMP WON! WHERE ARE ALL THE "IF TRUMP WINS, I WILL ..." PEOPLE?

Now with the American 2016 Presidential election over, we are reminded again, more than ever before that in Politics anything and I mean anything can happen. Did I get a few others concur?

I can only imagine Soyinka keeping to his promise and many others who said one form of “if Donald Trump wins, I will…” Donald Trump has taken America and the whole place is coloured ‘RED’ and his party members are popping champagne as you read this. Such is life!

Hillary Clinton no doubts gave Trump a good ‘run for his money’ and that of his party members, her name has gone into the history books as one woman who almost became the first female President in America. If only all those who sang her praises during the campaigns truly went out en masse and voted. It’s just a repeated case of “Jonathan will win…Jonathan will win in 2015” yet after all said and done, more than half of all those who were chanting Jonathan’s praise either did not vote for him or did not  go out to vote at all. Politics is so filled with interesting dynamics, intrigues and most of all, confused people.

I almost had blood pressure and so did many others while the votes were counted and results released as if it was my country. No doubts, America affects every one of our lives in one way or the other. The world stood still for this election as nearly every country seemed to have a stake in the outcome.

Congratulations to Trump anyway even as the world awaits your work and policies in taking America to the next level.

I was reading some of Trump’s comments made during the campaigns and was even more alarmed that inspite of the so many uncouth statements and declaration from this ‘man of the moment’ he was still loved by many. The results speak volumes and how much he is loved. People can never be entirely trusted. When they say they love you, think again because they just may be implying the very opposite.

Once again, politics is an interesting world filled with confused people!

WHAT’S NEXT IN AMERICA?

Big question!

DONALD TRUMP, COASTING TO VICTORY?

The race for the White house is getting hotter and of course Obama would be having a field’s day watching events unfold as all those running to take over from him jostle to outdo one another.

One of the front runners, Donald Trump after massive criticisms from some party leaders, went hot and vulgar on his rivals on Thursday during the Republican debate even as the conservatives brooded over accepting his acrimonious candidacy or disrupting his march to the nomination.

Trump had during the debate while hitting back at Rubio who had made mocking remarks on his hands being small, said “Nobody has ever hit my hands, he referred to my hands. If they’re small, something else must be small. I guarantee you there is no problem” even as the boisterous crowd laughed and booed. “

Rubio while trying to exonerate himself accused Trump for casting the first stone saying “Donald Trump has basically mocked everybody with personal attacks,” thereby getting Trump on the defensive who then retorted with several insults while talking over his rivals saying on one of the instances “You’ve defrauded the people of Florida, little Marco”.

Hmmm! Never knew Donald Trump was this mouthy until the campaigns started.

Interestingly, in as much as the attacks on Trump from his fellow contenders are flying from every angle on the debate state, each of the candidates including Senator Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich have nevertheless affirmed that they would give their full support to anyone who eventually emerges the party’s nominee.

On the 15th of March, Florida the home state of Rubio will have their votes but there are fears that Trump may take the day there as he already leads by polls and if that happens, it could have a massive negative effect on his chance to the nomination.

On the other hand, Kasich who according to the people “seem to be the adult on the stage” opines that rather than focus on personal debasement and ‘scrums’ as recorded on Thursday, the race should focus on ‘important policies’ even as he struggles to remain relevant in the nomination contest which is becoming fiercer by the day..

From all indications, Trump the business mogul who only a few days ago emerged as one of the world’s richest as reported by Forbes is obviously gliding towards becoming the party’s flag bearer as other voters have pledged their allegiance to rally round Trump irrespective of how it turns at the end of the day.

Guess who also got himself on Trumps firing line as a result of some of his very hash criticisms while lambasting Trump as unfit to emerge President on Thursday?

It was none other than Mitt Romney, who said nominating Trump would assist Hillary Clinton of the Democratic party to emerge winner and had also in a speech at Utah while admonishing the people to vote the other candidates said “Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud” who according to him “is playing the American public for suckers” and unfit to be America’s President.

Trust Trump to always have answers for any attacks. He has on several occasions insisted on being the only one capable of defeating Clinton, according to him, “I have not started on Hillary yet, believe me, I will start soon.” In response to Romney, Trump called him a “choke artist”  “begging” for endorsement having lost to Obama four years ago. And Kasich on the other hand did not help matters as he acknowledged that even though Romney still has some elements of power within the party, he however added that “Mitt Romney is a great guy, but he doesn’t determine my strategy”.

Cruz who also to an extent seems to be on the same worrying page with Romney insists that “the stakes are too high” for Trump to emerge the nominee, with fears that Clinton will eat him alive ahead of the November election given Trump’s legal problems with his closed university and his financial contributions to Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign which according to him would spell huge trouble and asked the viewers, “Is this the debate you want playing out in the general election?”

Taking the sides of Cruz, Steve King a House Republican told AFP that it is wrong for a party to disintegrate forcefully with the aim to stop a popular candidate was not the answer and also added that “We should not change the rules just because you don’t like the person that emerges in the leadership”.

Trump when asked by Fox news representatives on why he changed some of his political opinions such as on the Iraq war and admitting Syrian refugees, Trump defended his ground-shifting saying “I have a very strong core, but I’ve never seen a successful person who wasn’t flexible.” He thereafter went ahead to reverse his own immigration plan, saying he now supports an increase in visas for highly skilled foreign workers. “I changed my tune,” he added. Rubio however cut in saying “There’s a difference between flexibility, and telling people whatever you need to get them to… do”.

And so while we await results from the upcoming votes, here is closing with a trending note from a supposed late relative of Trump's.
