Nearly every woman
goes shopping for one item or the other at least once every week or once every
month at the least. And 99% of these shopping
periods, they shop for mostly things worn on the outside such as dresses, shoes,
bags and other items but they rarely leave home to go shopping for
undergarments except there is a dire need of new undergarments or for example,
when that ‘wonder bra’ can no longer do wonders for them anymore as it would have
become so worn out and leaving them looking drab in their outfits. Yes! That is
when most women decide to go shopping for undergarments.
I read an article
recently that Rigby & Peller, a lingerie retailer, surveyed American women to see what type of skeletons they
have tucked away in their lingerie closet, or drawer. Turns out, there's some
shocking stuff in there.
According to the poll,
most women have just three bras they wear on heavy rotation, one of which is
considered an “old faithful" that 67 percent of women admit to wearing
almost every day. And believe it or not, 30 percent of women said they own a bra that's more than 10 years old. Ten
years old. That's 10 Super Bowls, six Olympic Games (summer and winter, of
course), the whole Twilight saga, the Royal Wedding and the
KimYe wedding. Don't you think it's seen enough?
Granted, once you
find that miracle bra that makes your clothes fit like a dream and gives you
all the confidence in the world, it's hard to let that go. Which is why 77 percent
of women said they owned at least one bra that made them feel confident, and 96 percent said
they would ideally like to own underwear that both feels amazing and looks
amazing.
For those of you
who are ‘about to wed’, we know your wedding to-do list is filled with vendor
appointments and dress fittings, but now is the perfect time to upgrade your undergarment wardrobe and
treat yourself to some new pieces, for comfort and confidence. Let's be honest,
wearing a matching bra and underwear set has a way of making you feel like you
really have it together.
After
going through that article, I did a quick research and called up a couple of
ladies and asked how long or how old they’ve had their oldest bras and the
responses where amazing?
For
a lot of them, they wear a particular a bra nearly every day of the week even
though they have others and even newer ones in the closets but can’t seem to
get over ‘that’ particular bra as it seems the one bra that makes them feel the
way they feel underneath those garments.
Now think about
your own lingerie habit as you may not have done that in a while. How many bras
do you own? Is there one that's worn most frequently? How frequent is that?
When you start to actually think about your relationship with undergarments,
it's a bit cringe worthy.
Do
I sense a bit of urgency right now? Don’t wait till straps are broken, torn or
worn out. If you’ve had them for some time now and worn them too frequently as
well, it’s time to make a change!
