NOT ALL GARLICS ARE HEALTHY! SPOT THAT TOXIC GARLIC!!

We have heard countless number of times the various health benefits of garlic and many other herbs. Nevertheless, what we rarely hear is that there indeed exists some form of toxic garlic out there which many people are unaware of because for many of us, ‘garlic is garlic’.

It is said that less than 10 years ago, all of the garlic in the US was grown in California until they started importing from growers in China thereby reducing the California grown garlic in the US less by 40%  and more than 60%  imported from China and also putting a lot of California growers out of business.

Now the question would be “how do we recognise the good from the bad? Or how do you spot the difference  between the toxic and the non-toxic?

So before you go chewing, swallowing and gulping just any garlic, read this first as culled from omigy.

If all of the roots have been removed, and a clean, concave spot is left, that means the garlic is Chinese. All of this is required by  the Agriculture Department in order to prevent plant diseases which are soil- born to enter the country.

And if the roots are still there, then it is a Californian garlic. It is proven that not a single garlic grower from California cuts out the roots.

But, unfortunately, China is dealing with a great issue of quality control. This is because most of the Chinese farmers use illegal and mostly harmful pesticides in order to make their crops grow.

One undercover magazine reporter found out that many of the vegetable farms there use parathion and phorate, two types of pesticides which are literally banned by the government. They do this just to irrigate the crops and save some effort and time.

These two  pesticides have been marked as toxic! The second major factor for the bad quality of the foods imported from China is their soil.  China is facing a major pollution problem.

Their soil by itself is toxic, meaning that it creates major health problems. Some official government reports show that a fifth of the soil in China is contaminated by some heavy metals and an unhealthy amounts of fertilizers and pesticides.

This form of severe pollution has even contaminated the rivers in China, filling them up with household waste and industrial chemicals. But, how to spot the garlic from China?
Please beware and make sure that what you’re buying is not a garlic imported from China. It is filled with bleach, and a lot of other chemicals which are extremely bad for your health.

So, here is what you have to do the next time you go to the supermarket. First, if there are roots or stem on the garlic, then it is safe.

China always makes sure to cut off the stem and the roots so that the weight would be decreased when they are shipped over the sea.

Second, the heavier and bulkier garlic is also safe. The imported kind of garlic is smaller and weighs less.Next, the garlic which is healthier and grown here, in California has a fuller and richer taste.

When put on a flavor measuring scale, one big homegrown garlic measures out 40 out of 40, and the imported garlic measures only 28 out of 40.

Finally (and we all know this one) – the best way to make sure that your garlic is safe an healthy is if you buy it from a local market or grow it in your own home.

INSTEAD OF 'IPHONISING' DOGS, ADOPT A CHILD TODAY IF YOU HAVE THE WHEREWITHAL

Report from CNN says Apple has already sold out all of their Jet black iPhone 7 and just when you are thinking “how I wish I was one of those who could afford it” then a few hours after that line of thought, you read another article, not just article but an insane article somewhere in the world, in the midst of this hunger lingering all over, some persons are buying phones for their DOGS! I mean not just phones, but Iphone7 which many persons would never be able to afford in their lives.
How insane can that be? It is true that too much money, makes mad. Haba!

I know a lot of people would be quick to say “what is our business, after all he can afford it” since he’s the son of 61 year old Wang Jianlin a property magnate  and one of the richest men in China.

Yes he is from a rich family, but then again, it still in that same China that we have people living below what anyone would not be able to even call ‘poverty’ as they live less than poverty stricken people. So the big question is, how does buying these phones for a mere dog aid the lives of these poverty stricken persons , who would have heard the news, in anyway? Gosh, I resonate that ‘money truly makes mad.

It’s not the first time 28 year old Wang Sicong will be buying overtly expensive items for his dog Coco, an Alaskan malamute as it has enjoyed a lot of other very expensive gifts from Sicong, its owner in the past, such as Apple watches to being bought a Fendi bag that many ladies are still dreaming of having, even if it’s ‘knock off’. Sicong will no doubts be giving a lot of people, especially ladies, sleepless nights with these pictures.

After I read that article on the ‘iPhonised’ dog, just a little further on social media, I came across this wonderful picture of a lady who adopted an almost dead-looking child and a year later, she was seen with the child looking so healthy and nothing like what was posted the year before. It is such things that should draw people’s attention and so priorities should be set.

Adopt a child today and stop throwing money around for the wrong reasons. What a dog needs is good food, good wash amongst other daily care and needs. But a child needs all that and more. So let's reach out and show more love by taking care of some of the hopeless, helpless and in some cases 'almost dead' children due to malnutrition if we have the wherewithal.

My opinion though!

DESPITE BREXIT, UK WELCOMES TALLEST RESIDENTIAL TOWER

Sometimes in life, no matter how much hate, slander, backstabbing and gossip you get from people, you will be amazed to find even another large number of GENUINE people who are still willing to stand by you and love you even more, irrespective of how much mud have been smeared on your person/image by those haters especially when you must have done some kind of ‘good’ in the past.

I remember a few years back when some banks were blacklisted and news about them folding up or ‘going under’ all over the airwaves, a lot of marketers from the competing banks started ‘demarketing’ these blacklisted banks in a bid to get their clients into the supposed ‘still-standing’ banks at the time but some of these clients refused as they remained loyal to their banks that many of them said “helped to kick-start my business with small loans”. Now, that is what I call loyalty!

And so, even though it’s not exactly the same or vivid picture as painted above, Greenland Group, a Chinese firm, inspite of the Brexit which took place in UK a few months back, is set to build the tallest residential tower in western Europe in the UK. About a week ago, this China’s biggest private property company unveiled plans for the 771-foot tall, 67-story Spire London in the Docklands neighborhood in the east of the city, which will have 861 apartments, of which 765 are for private sale. They include suites, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, and three-bedroom duplex penthouses. What a huge project!

Talk about ‘belief’ in a good economy to invest. Just when you thought many would leave with their business investments, others are juggling for space to invest.

According to a report by Kathryn Hopkins in Mansion Global, “The recent wave of Chinese investment into London property showed no sign of slowing down despite the Brexit decision as Greenland Group announced plans to build the tallest residential tower in the U.K. and Western Europe”.

The report says the £800 million skyscraper will not only have views of the River Thames, Canary Wharf, the City of London and far beyond by residents but will in addition also provide a concierge, retailing, a residents’ gardens and other five-star lifestyle amenities, including a 35th floor Spa and Club Bar just like found in hotels.

The building construction which is already underway, as understood, is expected to be completed by the year 2020 with apartments priced from around £595,000 to £3 million and CBRE and JLL with two global real estate agents as sales agents.

“The move comes despite concerns that demand for upmarket London homes is slowing after the country voted to leave the European Union earlier this year. A double whammy of higher sales tax has also been weighing on demand”.

“This tower will be Western Europe’s tallest residential building and underlines London’s enduring status as a world-class city and destination,” said Yuliang Zhang, chairman and president of Greenland Group. “This is Greenland Group’s most important project in Europe, and will deliver exceptional new homes for Londoners.”
However, there are speculations that this move with the skyscraper “could reignite controversies, too”. Nevertheless, the report says it is also expected that just like several other buildings in the capital, “there will be separate door for affordable housing tenants, dubbed ‘poor doors’, who will occupy 96 apartments”.

And so, UK still got investors in its terrains.
